Approach
Hakomi Mindful Somatic Psychology is a powerful, yet gentle approach to self-discovery and healing. Following the wisdom of the body and using mindfulness to stay with present experience, we discover and ultimately heal the ways that an individual organizes and relates to themselves, others and the world.
I am currently studying Relational Somatic Healing under Shirley Dvir which uses touch, loving presence and relationship to heal attachment, trauma and development wounds.
Also informing my counseling practice is my training as birth doula. Literally meaning “to mother the mother,” a doula is an ancient practice of accompaniment during a time of intense transition. The “being state” of a doula is one of compassionate support and steady guidance that helps an individual tap into their own inner wisdom and strength.
